Mass. Senior Games seeks Managing Director to work
on behalf of Board of Directors to organize and run summer and
winter Games for older, active adults. PT job includes
promoting Games, office mgt., and fundraising. Ability to work
independently, have good computer skills, good communication with
athletes, government & businesses. Can do some work from home
but office and summer games at Springfield College. Requires some
travel to event sites around the state. Base salary $26k plus
incentives and bonuses. Older adults, women, minorities encouraged

Massachusetts Senior Games Managing
Director General Job Description
Functions:
1. To implement the strategic goals and
objectives of the Mass. Senior Games (organization)
2. With the Executive Committee, enable
the Board of Directors (Board) to fulfill its governance
function
3. Assure that the organization has a
long-range strategy which achieves its mission, and toward which it makes
consistent and timely progress.
4. Provide leadership in developing
program, organizational and financial plans with the Board of Directors
and carry out plans and policies authorized by the Board of
Directors
5. Promote active and broad participation
by athletes and volunteers in all areas of the organization's
work.
6. Maintain official records and
documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state and local
regulations.
7. To give direction and leadership toward
the achievement of the organization's philosophy, mission, strategy, and
its annual goals and objectives
8. Bring new sponsors to the Mass. Senior
Games by acting as a high-level sales person
9. Direct and supervise the work of
contract personnel including volunteers, event managers, all event support
staff including, but not limited to setup crews, officials and timers
.
10. Maintain a working knowledge of
significant developments and trends in all areas pertaining to National
Senior Games and Senior health and wellness in general
In Communications, the Managing Director
will:
1. See that the Board is kept fully
informed on the condition of the organization and all important factors
influencing it.
2. Publicize the activities of the Mass.
Senior Games, its programs and goals.
3. Establish sound working relationships
and cooperative arrangements with community groups and
organizations.
4. Represent the programs and point of
view of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the general
public.
Reports to: Board of Directors
1. Board Administration and Support --
Supports operations and administration of Board by advising and
interfacing with Board members in a timely manner. Reporting of
vital information on the Mass. Senior Games overall performance to the
Board of Directors.
2. Program, Product and Service Delivery
-- Oversees design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of
programs, products and services
3. Financial, Tax, Risk and Facilities
Management -- Recommends yearly budget for Board approval and prudently
manages Mass. Senior Games resources within those budget guidelines with
oversight from the Chair and Treasurer and according to current laws and
regulations
4. Community and Public Relations --
Assures the organization and its mission, programs, products and services
are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant
stakeholders
5. Fundraising -- Oversees fundraising
planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements,
researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funding
sources, submitting proposals and administrating fundraising records and
documentation. Ensure that adequate funds are available to permit
the organization to carry out its work.
6. Jointly, with the President and
Secretary of the Board of Directors, conduct official correspondence of
the Mass. Senior Games, and jointly, with designated officers, execute
legal documents.
